一. KN95
KN95 refers to a protective mask with a filtration efficiency of 95%. Its implementation standard is GB2626-2019. The name of the standard is "Respiratory Protection Self-priming Filter Type Anti-particulate Respirator". This standard includes KN90, KN95, KN100 and other respirators. There is no bacterial filtration efficiency index requirement, and the filtration efficiency of non-oily substances (detected by sodium chloride particles) should be greater than or equal to 90%, 95%, and 99.97%, respectively.
二. N95
N95 is a standard for medical masks in the United States. It is one of the nine particulate protective masks certified by NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health). N95 is not a specific product name, as long as it meets the N95 standard and has passed the NIOSH review, it can generally be called an N95 mask. N95 masks require a filtration efficiency of more than 95% for non-oily particles.
Most of the domestic people generally refer to N95 masks as medical masks whose filtration efficiency reaches the US N95 standard. They are not strictly used to mark the US N95 standard and strictly implement the standard. In fact, the N95 produced and sold in my country (GB19083 -2010) Medical protective masks have the same protection standards, and the Chinese standard N95 produced by some well-known brands is more comfortable.
三. Medical masks
Medical masks in my country mainly include disposable medical masks, medical surgical masks, and medical protective masks. The corresponding implementation standards are YY/T0969-2013, YY0469-2011, and GB19083-2010. in:
1. The bacterial filtration efficiency of disposable medical masks is not less than 95%, and there is no requirement for the filtration efficiency index of non-oily particles;
2. The bacterial filtration efficiency of medical surgical masks is not less than 95%, and the filtration efficiency of non-oily particles is not less than 30%;
3. Medical protective masks are divided into grades 1, 2, and 3. There is no requirement for bacterial filtration efficiency indicators, and the filtration efficiency requirements for non-oily particles are not less than 95%, 99%, and 99.97%, respectively.
To sum up, my country's non-oily particle filtration efficiency reaches more than 95% (that is, up to the N95 standard), including KN95, medical protective masks, etc. These two types of masks generally fit the face and have relatively good airtightness, of which 2 Level 3 and level 3 medical protective masks require higher filtration efficiency than N95. The bacterial filtration efficiency of disposable medical masks and medical surgical masks is not less than 95%, which can also be used for personal protection, but there is no or lower requirement for the filtration efficiency of non-oily particles.
Masks with better airtightness may cause breathing difficulties when used. You should choose the type of mask that suits you according to your personal situation, the risk of infection in the place of use, and other factors. For the general public, as long as they wear masks in a standard manner, disposable domestic medical masks or medical surgical masks, American standard medical ASTM surgical masks, can play a very good protective role, and it is not necessary to wear medical N95 Face mask.
What should I pay attention to when wearing it?
"N95 masks are only worn in crowded situations such as emergency departments and fever clinics. If you are in an open area with ventilation and the population is not too dense, there is no need to wear N95 masks."
According to reports, according to the characteristics of the new coronavirus, it is difficult for it to survive in outdoor spaces, and N95 or KN95 masks are very airtight, and the elderly and children are prone to hypoxia when worn, so it is not necessary to wear them in normal life and work. It can be worn for a short time when taking a plane, train or going to a hospital for medical treatment.
If you are tested positive for the new coronavirus antigen or nucleic acid, it is recommended that you and your family members who live with you wear N95 or KN95 masks to reduce the risk of infection. High-risk personnel engaged in special occupations are recommended to wear N95 or KN95 masks in crowded public places.
N95/KN95 masks have good airtightness and poor ventilation. They are not suitable for people who are sensitive to hypoxia, such as emphysema, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, respiratory failure, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and certain brain diseases. N95/KN95 masks.
At the same time, N95 and KN95 masks should not be worn for a long time. Wearing them for a long time may affect the cardiopulmonary function. Especially the elderly, children, and those with respiratory diseases should wear them with caution.
1: In addition, it is not advisable or necessary to wear a multi-layer mask.
2: Young children are not recommended to wear N95 or KN95 masks. Children are immature in growth and development. If they wear N95/KN95 masks with good airtightness, they are prone to symptoms of hypoxia.
